As for shattering the screen, I've seen a few posts of drops where the tempered glass screen protector took all of the force for the fall, leaving the underlying surface untouched. All in all, I can say that I got an OZrly tempered glass screen protector and a slimline glove-fitting case, and I'm very pleased.
While the gorilla glass is scratch proof, there's still a risk if you drop something heavy on it, like a coffee mug or your phone at the right angle, and a screen protector is just an added layer of potential oops-proof. But if you're looking at the more expensive screen protectors, maybe get Microsoft Complete instead?
A lot of people are referring to this as a "screen protector" and mentioning how screen protectors are supposed to be removable. To be clear, this is NOT a screen protector and it's not designed
Sapphires rank slightly higher than Gorilla Glass on the Mohs scale of hardness. 3. It Reduces Eye Strain. Screen protectors with a matte finish make reflections less distinct, diffusing the glare. However, newer screen protectors use chemical treatments to provide an additional screen protector layer.
Solid meh for me. S21U since launch and the screen is all scratched up with tiny but permanent micro scratches. Never dropped, always in a case. Seems to scratch extremely easily. Side note, curved screens are the dumbest smartphone trend. Distorted content on the edges and much more difficult to use with glass screen protectors.
I mean the Deck is extremely durable and is built in a way where the screen isn’t necessarily vulnerable in a sense. Look at the Nintendo Switch for an example, the entire thing is really the screen, so naturally it doesn’t have protection and will definitely crack on impact of a drop.
TBF I don't think screens need screen protectors anymore unless the user is an exceptionally reckless person. Gorilla glass has gotten so good that tempered glass is not necessary for the vast majority of all phone users. Not to mention tempered glass doesn't always play nice with FP sensor.
Our top recommendation is the IMBZBK 4 Pack Screen Protector for Google Pixel 8 Pro. This four-pack gives you everything and more, including robust glass screen protectors with 9H hardness, camera
